Question for ATC

Post by skyrocket »

What do you think about the PC12? Does it make a big difference compared to others turbo prop aircrafts?

One or two engines, it's still a dot moving across the screen.

What are you asking?

If you're asking about performance, it is virtually impossible to distinguish between a PC-12/SW4/BE20 in the cruise or descent profiles, if you were to base it on the target alone. B190, C441, and MU2 will generally ground about 20-30 kts faster in cruise compared to the SW4 and BE20, and the Metro and MU2 have much higher groundspeeds in the climb vs the others. The 1900 and C441 can outclimb all of the above by a healthy margin if they want to.

While pilots may debate engine counts, systems differences, etc. around the hangar, all those types are viewed as more-or-less equal by ATC in terms of performance, minus the differences noted above.
