Getting your license

Post by sennan »

I couldn't imagine that these questions haven't been asked on this forum, yet I cannot find them so here I go. ( if you have a link I apologize for the repeats ).

Im currently living in YKA and I would like to obtain my CPL. Unfortunately the flight discovery that we have here does not meet my needs as they are ridiculously busy. I have decided to do my training in YLW at Southern interior as I have just enrolled in the summer PPL camp. My goal is to have my CPL and ratings by sept 09.

My question is If someone could help me with the planning of the order I should take my ratings to be most cost efficient and to help build my hours for my CPL. I do want my multi engine as well as instrument. Also I was told to do many of my solo's at night to get my 50 hours of night flying. I do believe that this is good idea but that is the kind of feedback I am looking for.

I could have made this shorter but I wanted to get the most out of it.

Thank you for your time and help that I have gotten from reading this forum.

well first after your private is your night (its short and opens up the whole day for flying) Then if you are going for Multi IFR, well it has to be your multi and starting to build that 50 hours PIC cross country. Once thats done get your IFR out of the way and you should have roughly 50 hours left until 200 to log another 50 cross country. (thats how it worked out for me anyways)

Once you get your PPL and night rating, try to build up as much night PIC cross country time as you can for your ATPL. Be nocturnal, sleep during the day and fly at night. Just like a bat.
