that's it! I'm going to the back... I'll send a flight attendant to sit up front

Every war when it comes, or before it comes, is represented not as a war but as an act of self-defense against a homicidal maniac. George Orwell

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.
I am a little confused with the nature of this thread. As a captain I certainly learned how to treat an F/O when I was an F/O, both from when I was treated as a crew member and when I wasn't treated as one. I know which I prefer. That being said, as someone who has mentored many I also have seen complete incompitance show up at the door. They were thanked for their time and moved out. Some had no business being at the controlls of an aircraft. Those that had the ability to be a captain, it became my responsibility to help them on their way. I never felt threatened by them in any way. There are very few on this forum who didn't start in the right seat. Stop calling yourselves names.

Yeah... when I initially read this thread that's kind of where I thought it was going. It's kind of sad that pretty much everyone went in the opposite direction. The worst part is... no one really spoke up about it either...
... some of those were pretty funny though...
x-wind: *a big sigh of relief* I'm glad SOMEONE is on the same page

No spelling was never included. Never saw a need for spelling when the task at hand was an approach, or even better, if one should even start the approach. But go ahead and get all your spelling ducks in a row and then come on over, I'll show you short field technique in mountain terrain. Guaranteed, last thing you will think about is spelling.

And some are cruisers at AC, those that are competent disregard
