This brings up an old memory of a B1900 sliding underneath me as I climbed out off Powell River's runway 27... There's some advantages to the 3 degree 'glide' path!
There were two other aircraft in the circuit, one on base, one on downwind, and both of them concerned for where the turboprop airliner was.... They both scattered as the B1900 landed in the opposite direction.
The professional crew did announce where they were and their intention to land downwind but uphill on runway 09... But five minutes! Is that enough when there's three aircraft using 27?
I assured my student that regardless of the airliner's action, the runway in use is the into wind one established by the light aircraft operating there, and the actions of the B1900 crew were not necessarily within the rules of the air, let alone good airmanship.
But it was a good lesson in the awareness we all need when operating from uncontrolled fields... IMHO with experience such awareness should be applied to controlled fields too, it can't hurt!

Yeah that kind of behaviour often gets itself CADORed, legal or not. It's bad airmanship and it's a safety hazard, especially if they're coming in on a straight in, traffic that's in the pattern gets priority.
