hey just wondering what the most cost effective way from yeg to the area around ikea? i've got a few hours to kill tomorrow and don't want to hang around the airport.

Fly over to city center and check out the aviation museum. It's pretty good! That's how I spent my day in Edmonton last year.

Here is a grand idea for you people let me float it:

A 300mph bullet train from downtown Edmonton to YEG for Pax. You checking, go through secuirty at a downtown facility. Then you board the train and out to the terminal. No cars are allowed to drive up to the terminal, you get funneled through down town. All the benifits of a downtown airport, and you get a 10 or 15min train ride to the terminal say every 15min. This would be good at any number of airports. Keep congestion down on arterial roads that feed the airports for cargo traffic. Users from in the city get out there nice and fast. A win win situation.
