MAT starting wage is $1000 base a month plus in Canada and $750USD Cash Tax Free in Male. Thats for a level 1 First Officer...someone with less than 800hours total time. Then it goes up above that accordingly.

Starting pilot 30$ a day
Next jump is 50$ a day
Senior FO (over 1500hrs) 75$ a day
Captain in Training 90$ a day
Starting Captain (2000 hrs) 150 a day

That is what it was last year, but I heard they got a 10$ a day raise!

Actually except that they wear green shorts, small wraparound shades, and no shoes in Male, I know nothing. They fly lots though.

Starting FO is $25/day for 30.5 days a month. Then $1000 base in Canada a month. Plus no raise for lowest level F/O's. Now raises in Maldives is all based on Total Time and Float time. For Capts its TT, Float time and PIC.

Canadians working in Maldives for more than half a year are probably entitled to 'overseas tax credit'. Combined with such a depressing salary for FO's, I'd suspect that taxes will be the least of your worries.

Highflyingpilot things are cheap in the Maldives. Accommodations are provided by the company so you really only need to buy food and beer. Most nights you are at a resort so food is provided and usually a discount of up to 50% for alcohol. You can fill your entire monthly liquor order for about $75 and that will include 2 1/2 cases of canned beer and 4 bottles of liquor. A large pizza delivered to your door will cost you about 8 bucks. Lots of restaurants all over the island, high end to low end so don't worry about the price of food, that will be the least of your worries.

Of course if you are a low time copilot and want to spend every night in Male' at the Hula Male' Hotel drinking beer then you may want to bring lots of cash with you!
