The P. Eng is nothing more than an association that regulates the work of their members. Period. I'm not saying that AMEs aren't professionnals. Just stating that Professionnal Enginneers (as in P. Eng) are member of an association.

Actually you did,, see a few posts above,, Im sure boosted can cut and paste it.

I remember saying that P.Eng members are professionnal engineers. Never talked about AMEs. Don't make me say things I don't say.

Why are we having this debate again?

That is to be a Professionnal Engineer, to be member of the order and, by that fact, be allowed to sign on some types of work. Engineer is just a word Strega, get over it. If you need people to tell you you're God's gift to the Universe because you are an "Engineer" then sure, all the AMEs are mechanics and you're above God.

Refer my last post... I was talking about Engineers member of the association (P. Eng it is). Never mentionned anything about AMEs not being professionnal. It's not because one "kind" of engineers are professionnal than the others aren't. Jesus, you are really stubborn aren't you.

I'm asking again, why do you make such a big deal out of it...

ab quick google of the word strega brings up this interesting wiki.. would explain a lot.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stregheria

I don't see anything out there on the google in regards to strega and penis size..

unless you are talking about strega enterprises..

Then I guess that would back up the argument that you are tiny

Because clearly those guys are way to cool to have you in their employ

which would logically lead to the assumption you are posing

which would actually explain quite a lot.

Strega,
You really need to get a girlfriend! This infatuation with the tile given to us by Transport Canada must have something to do with low self-esteem. Your mother obviously didn’t hug you enough as a child. I feel sorry for you.

I don't call myself an engineer.

I call myself a MOP technician, Waste Disposal Technician, Cofee Man Technician, Ordering Nuts Technician,

etc, etc.

My personal definition of an engineer : Someone who takes an idea, and makes something from SCRATCH.

No manuals, no references, NO prototypes. Just makes something up to accomplish a goal.

If I could redesign the 208 I would. It needs some minor adjustments to make maintenance a LOT LOT easier.

But that won't happen. Why? I'm NOT an engineer. I'm also lazy. I'm also not getting an engineer's salary.

:P

Why not take this silly linguistics debate to Transport Canada and demand they change the name Strega? if it bothers you that bad act on it.

All British Airways technicians are called Air Engineers. I just took a Trent 800 course and the instructor was a BA Air Engineer, the documentation pointed out that the course was for Air Engineers etc...

Maybe the Engineer term is something we inherited from the Brits?

Regardless.... My license says AME.... :P

I had to re-read the original post and all the reponses just to make sure.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT TECHNOLOGIST

Everybody is so consumed (in their own way) on a personal and/or professional level about "engineers" they overlooked the fact that VAL was looking for either an engineer or a "technologist". It's unfortunate they chose to create the ad as they did. That in itself shows either arrogance or ignorance or a bit of both on their part.
Post-secondary Engineering Technologist diploma
http://www.bcit.ca/path/engineering/programs/

I had to user BCIT as a reference as they seem to offer (too) many options.

The B. Eng program is 4 years while the Technology programs (technologists) are 2 years long.

Keep staring at the burnt out bulb .....
