Nice to see the site up and running again! Anyway, I have a question and I'd like some feedback from everyone here.
Currently, I am a low-time pilot (just under 500 hours) that does aerial work. All flying is single-engine day-vfr. There's the potential for a lot of hours here (except during the winter), but I will never fly anything bigger than a Cessna. In an average year, I can get 600 hrs. If our company goes ahead with some planned changes, these hours will increase. There is also potential for me to get as much as 1000 hours. All time is PIC and it's single-pilot flying (in other words, it's very fun
Now, there is a potential that I can get a ramp job up North in YTH. The job obviously has not been offered, but I need to "plan ahead" so-to speak. The ramp wait from what I was told is 16-18 months. As always, a flying job is not guarenteed, but there is at least potential with this company to fly bigger a/c.
So, if you were in my shoes, what would you do? I am 23 years old and hope one day to fly either corporate jets or work for an airline. I don't mind putting time on the ramp, but I wonder if it's a good idea to leave a cozy flying job for a ramp job. Has anyone does this?
Please feel free to be brutally honest with me!
taffer.
