Triple 777 training

One question to anybody that might know the answer to this question.

As an example I fly the right seat on the A340 and put in my request for the triple 777. How far in advance does Air Canada notify me for this training in terms of weeks or months or do they just tell me your number has come up today and you begin training in the first week of September.

Is this the way this works? Or do they give you some notice in advance?

To answer your hypnotically question AC’s training department normally gives you ample notice of your training date. Depending on many things it could be up to a year in advance. Like everything else in life the plan can get off the rails and the training department then scrambles to fill an empty slot.

For now you have a 17 years notice for your 777 training: 2 years before they hire again and then 15 years because that's probably what you need to hold the last spot on reserve on that equipment + grey hair

You may get a short call (1 or 2 days notice for a course) if there is a last minute change of plans. IE..if someone who is scheduled to go on course cancels at the last minute due to sickness, etc.

Hmm "bluenote" never said he was right seat on the 340. I believe he was asking a general hypnotically bid/training question as he is not presently employed by AC.

O/K since the hypothetical questions are put forward by those who don't work at Air Canada - I got one.

What is the dress code when you are on upgrade training and/or recurrent? For us outside of airline flying it was jeans/sneakers sans shirt and tie (that was me all the way). I can imagine for new hires they would appear to make themselves presentable but for old established male line drivers, is it different, do they really give a f----. I would assume definitely no shorts/tank-tops for the lady pilots.

Well Old Fella......Hypnotically speaking, we wear "Business Casual" No jeans but no ties either. I guess, hypothetically, we can wear a golf shirt, or any shirt with a collar, and casual pants.
