Getting a Work Visa in Canada
Hi,
So my situation;
Just about completed my CPL with 35 hours on floats and a 3000nm x-country in the bag.
I am on a student visa which will run out fairly soon.
To get a work visa i need;
a prospective employer (job offer) and for said employer to apply for a labour market opinion..
Then with both i send off for a work visa..
So really i need a sympathetic employer willing to do the associated tasks.
Since it is the back end of the float season, what i am willing to do is to 'do anything', clean, run errands, whatever it takes to get an employer to send off for a labour market opinion and help me out.
Does anyone have experience with any of this? Any employer's out there that have been through this process before?
Any advice, information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

What nationality are you? If you are part of the commonwealth (and some other countries) you can get a 1-2 year working holiday visa (you don't need a job for that)

Australian... So yeah it would seem so if you are correct.....

I would actually suggest you contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada for assistance... they can provide you with the legal assistance and direction you will need to prolong your stay here in Canada.

Yeah will do. It's incredibly hard to work this out.
There are so many variables and pedantic conditions. Especially for a pilot (no degree??? hmm, etc etc) I want to stay in this wonderful part of the world (bc). Thanks for the help.

Yeah 3000nm, the tortuous path from Victoria to Whitehorse and back.

How about marrying a Canadian?
The immigration thing is a pain in the ass, but the sooner you start the process the better, if you're set on remaining in Canada.
