Re: MISC FORUMS
Well, we had to scroll down to catch Skywolfe's wedding pics. I think that's over the line. Scrolling sucks, put it back please.

I'd like to take a moment to explain something to you people who seem so put out over this.
Joe is a real person, with a real life, and a real job. This site is provided FOR you, "what more do you want from US???" Are you serious? What?
There are as stated, a number of issues being discussed amongst us, Joe is considering the options, and trying to find time to address them amongst the other 900 things he does on here you never see. Believe it or not, Avcanada is a complex little toy, and for one very part-time person, it's a lot to handle. A little maturity and common sense would go a long way to helping this process along. If you are all seriously too lazy to scroll down the page to MISC Forum, I can't help you with that, the problem runs much deeper.
We'll consider all the comments made both here and via PM, and we appreciate the constructive ones.

Lets just post misc stuff in the general forum till they give in to our demands

Re: MISC FORUMS
Niss, I liked your post on the marijuana forum but I think you're showing signs of burning out - I think you should go and have a little lie-down and get back to us.
At least put the Jazz forum below the Miscellaneous one. Just about everybody reads the M. but few read the J. one.
Life without Avcanada would mean devastation for lots of us whose tenuous grip on reality would slip away a little more than it already has. I know that Joe owns this site and works hard to keep it up and running but I cannot help but think it is not pure altruism. Whatever his reasons, the site continues and I hope it will help with Joe's retirement. It is perfectly Canadian to bitch and whine, that's about all we do in this country, then considering that most of us are pilots, the background whining is nearly deafening.
We spend every 6 months doing recurrent to try and reach aviation 'perfection,' while we are graded on everything from our dress to our attitude and yet there are those who wonder why we whine? 6-monthly medicals to taste out pee and measure our hearts, and with a mere stamp, or lack thereof, we are forever grounded and a future at Wal-Mart?
I get a lot of mileage out of a whine and some of us have raised it to an art-form, so deal with it. We are your "customers" and we are loyal but I'm positive this is a 2-way street. I'm sure that the moderators would be lessened if they couldn't 'moderate' this site, I'm sure there are personal reasons for doing it so you guys have a stake too.
Besides, I would never have seen Wolfie's wedding photos without this site and that means a lot to me.
Long Live Avcanada!

Re: MISC FORUMS
Well, that's certainly a mature and reasoned response when others have offered an opinion that's not in line with yours. I don't believe anyone has said they are too tired or lazy to scroll down, just that they personally prefer not to. By suggesting they are flawed for having that preference, you are not contributing in a positive way what-so-ever. It's especially out of place when you follow it up with...STL wrote:A little maturity and common sense would go a long way to helping this process along. Hard to believe you will actually consider anything that doesn't align with your own feelings or opinion. And you certainly don't seem to appreciate differing opinions, so are "constructive" ones only those that agree with you? I guess so since...STL wrote: We'll consider all the comments made both here and via PM, and we appreciate the constructive ones.

As I said earlier it really is up to Joe to do as he pleases. I haven't paid a cent to run this board. And all I can effectively do is choose whether to read it and participate or not. But, I would appreciate that if you don't want feedback, don't ask for it and don't pretend to be interested when you're not.

I have pledged a little money to this board in the past and I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is again. Please put the Misc. forums back to the top.

5X5, B-Rad,
Give me a break. The two of you seem more concerned with stirring the pot than contributing anything useful. I won't bother wasting any time breaking down your various posts, but suffice it to say, "people in glass houses..." Grow up.

Re: MISC FORUMS
We DO read your input. We do consider it. It's all being discussed.
It IS a dictatorship. Every one of us mods could vote one way, but it IS JOE's forum. He does ask for our input, but if he disagreed, it would be the way he wanted it. Fair enough, I say. It's his nickel (though some of us do hit the donation button...oops, guilty Joe! Been a while for me
) and his many unpaid hours taken away from his work and family (well, mostly family).
Mod hat off:
I agree with stl...scroll for 2 seconds or bookmark the freakin' Misc Forum. It's not rocket surgery or brain science, to find it.

Re: MISC FORUMS
I honestly have not decided what to do with the misc. forum.
I am reading everyone's comments and listening however.

Re: MISC FORUMS
My preference is to always have the 'active' forums on top. It's all about having a well laid out page; and less to do with laziness for scrolling or the unfamiliarity with change.
So, once again, my vote is to bring it back to the top. It's a good forum with many posts, why risk losing that?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Re: MISC FORUMS
Why not move the Misc. forum all the way down and make it the last, just like jetblast? This way, it's not on the "Front Door", AND it's fast & easy to find it (scrolling all the way down is much easier than scrolling 87% down).
I don't have any problem at all giving my mouse wheel a good spin once in a while!

Re: MISC FORUMS
It really makes no difference, because the General forum will become the Misc forum. Seen it dozens of times already. Course, you could just get rid of those pesky users altogether, that would simplify things eh? Who needs 'em anyway?
