as crazy8 said, both will be used for charters and sked. if all goes as planned a 3rd will be added in YYC fall-early 2006.

also heard possibly 1-2 more 1900D's right away.

They're still training. It's finally good to see some expansion at CMA.

well they're very close to being down training; maintenance is down and the majority of the pilots are.

good luck CMA!

When you say Do 328 are we talking 328 Jet with the P&W 300 series or the old 328 with the Garretts

I hope its the 328Jet as I spent about a year on Shell's 328's and after a few years in the business it takes something to impress me and the 328's did just that.

Very nice piece of German engineering though the APU starter is a bit of a chore to get at.

I stand corrected.

Yes of course the old machine is the 228 as Alta Flts in Edmonton has, and Summit in Yellowknife. With Garretts ********* Being an old PT6 man I just have to hold a cross up when I hear the name Garrett.

So some more 328's are coming to Canada. I believe Shell in Calgary has one, can someone tell us if they still opperate it.

Like I said before a BEAUTIFUL aircraft. Check out how the doors close.

Not that its a problem in Canada but the FCU's on those P&W 306's are very finicky and any contamination of the fuel will result in a no start condition.

Any of you CMA guys who get to fly them be sure the fuel you get in FT. whatever is filtered.

Interesting enough when the Dorniers were down with FCU's out of service and there wern't enough in the system to keep them flying guess what they chartered to move the customers. Dash-8's. I loved it, being a Canadian and all.

Central Mountain Air is get the 328prop not the 328 jet so they will have the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW119B not the PW 306's

Doesn't seem to be to bad of a pay scale.
But I see the have a 12 yr. F/O pay scale, If you there for 12 years as a F/O you may want to reconsider your career as a pilot, cause your probably doing something wrong not to be captain.

You think that is a good pay scale? pathetic. 40K for a 328 capt? My lord. i know some navajo capts that make that much. and 62K after 12 years? thats veyr bad. sorry

any payscale where a Do-328 captain starts at 40k/yr is not a good payscale. I imagine the shell captains would be starting at no less than twice that. Infact pretty much any 705 captain should be starting at twice that.

Not to say anything against CMA, just to state some facts for aircraft pay in the same category:

Captains, Dhc-8 and CJR,

Year 1: 75 hrs a month@72.23= 65007
Year 12 :75 hrs a month @95.17=85653

F/o
Year 1: 36,000 a year
Year 12: 75 hrs @ 61.86 =55674

These are the current rates at Jazz. And minimun hourly guarantees for the pilots, There are rates inbetween and above what I mentioned. But it should give you an idea.

Cheers

I do not think you will go from a 5 year B1900 captain to a first year DO328 captain. You are on the captain scale regardless which aircraft you fly. I would suspect that all the Dornier captains have a few years on the Beech . Nor do I believe that a right seat DO328 f/o jumps to the left seat of the Dornier, more likely to Captain on the Beech.

Why does a 31,000 lb 330 kt, 30 pax aircraft have the same pay scale as a 1900? I assume there would be no bond with those wages.

Apparently there is a 1 year training bond for the D328. Even with that pathetic pay scale
