Well put... but maybe the loyalty is part of the problem. Stop buying tickets for the team that is going nowhere and maybe they actually will try to rebuild. Habs caved and did it and now they're doing well again. Of course, they still sold out every game in the process. Even being a Habs fan, I would like to see Toronto do well... they're Canadian and that's what counts, just as long as they lose all eight to the Habs.

By the way, it's funny how you neglected to mention the Sens in that rant. They're probably a bigger enemy than the Habs or Bruins in this day in age.

That said, looking forward to a new season... HNIC... greatest thing in sports, especially when an afternoon game makes it a triple header... nothing better than nine hours of hockey on a saturday.

Yeah I know the rivalry will never be the same... that's a given. I'm definitely one that does not need to be lectured on the topic. I'm up there with the greatest hockey fans in the country and by far one of the most loyal and dedicated Habs fans. You missed my point. I just thought it a little funny that the Sens weren't even mentioned. The Toronto/Ottawa rivalry is growing exponentially within the GTA. Imagine if Hamilton got a team as well. I guess I shouldn't have said "bigger enemy"... so sorry... forgive me please. Anyone who doesn't know the Leafs/Habs are the greatest rivalry in hockey don't know hockey, so thanks for stating the obvious.

Montreal has had better players and and a better record throughout all of the NHL. So far, they've won a cup in every decade as well. If Canada has a team Montreal takes it, aside from Team Canada of course...

And I agree with you as far as the Calgary thing goes... lived for a year after the cup run. They all love the team and don't know a single player besides Iggy, Kipper and Phaneuf. Brutal fans for the most part.

It's hard to get a ticket, cause everyone loves to hate the leafs. And they all wanna come and see them get shit kicked. And those "free" tickets you got were not free. Somebody paid big bucks for those.

Dude you're on crack, have you ever been toLeaf games anywhere in Canada? Please don't comment on things that you don't understand. I've been to Leaf games in Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver and Ottawa and yes nearly half the crowd.
