All of my dealings with American folk have always been pleasant and I think they have some very amazing country and history to go along with it.
Unfortunately, it's all the "personalities" (and I use that term very loosely) that are in the primetime spotlight that paint the picture for what the U.S of A. stands for. That includes the politicians.
My feeling is that Canada is treated like America's little brother who lets him hang out only because his mom told him to. And only really "cares" when little brother has something he wants like oil, fresh water, lumber, electricity, the arctic waters, and on. And that's probably our own fault, but I think Canadians (and the rest of the world for that matter) will always look at Americans with a suspicious eye.
"If you're not doing things the American way, then you should be" I think is the message they either knowingly or unknowingly portray.
Remember, there is no "I" in Team America
