How about Christian Heritage Party and the Western Block Party - official parties as well, in my riding? And then there's 'None of the above' also a good choice in some places..

I think since misc./political was moved practically out of sight on the index list this site has become so bland and boring no one even bothers with it.

I did my part as an Avcanad-ian citizen. Too bad I can't vote in the real thing. So I guess there is at least +/- 1 error in this poll.

I'm not usually with Swede, but I think it was stupid to move the political forum to the bottom. Was it supposed to cool the debate off? I'm suprised I haven't seen anyone mention its movement till now.

Gee, as far as I noticed, this is an aviation site, so why should off-topic forums be at the top or near the top? I applaud the move, to be honest. If you want to go cause shit in the political/misc forum, it's still there...

I come here less because of it being moved. Maybe that's a good thing.

You might also be the funniest poster. Perhaps we should start a poll about that as well?

. I'm voting for Harper .. for his policies of slow, incremental governorship…- a process that won't overturn the Ship of State but will transform it. Greatly transform it. I'm voting for his decentralization of powers, his return of power to the people..away from the Liberal elitist circles in Ottawa-Montreal. I'm voting for his integrity and principles. I'm voting against the class based political system of the Liberals/NDP (Greens don’t count).
If the worldwide credit crunch/economic downturn continues its march (It will), if oil and other commodities prices continue to tumble too (they will), Canada will start going into deficit. We will then see what Harper is truly made of: A true patriot/man of the people with a real Conservative mind set (The hidden agenda?) or an opportunist politician only worried about his party's future in power (In essence, often the true weakness of a democratic system of governance).
What I'm getting at here is in order for Canada to shed some 'socialism' it will have to be forced to do so by massive lay offs of bureaucracy and program cancellations: CBC should be first on chopping block.
A bad recession/ depression seems to be the only trigger for this and other social progroms to happen...I have my fingers crossed.

I actually agree with him to a certain extent. There are hundreds of government organizations that are completely unnecessary. If hard times are coming, why pay for all this crap?

A quick google search yields:

http://www.lufa.ca/news/news_item.asp?NewsID=4744
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columb ... rkers.html
http://money.canoe.ca/Comment/2007/04/26/4132147.php

Hundreds of sites like this, both news stories & blogs.

Obviously we need cops, roads, health care, social safety net, etc. But the government is just too damn big, the cost to operate it is too much, and I would be surprised if the return on taxes is less than 50%. Does that necessitate voting for Harper, I don't know. I sure as hell won't vote for Dion or Layton though.

What kills me is everyone wants all these social programs to provide places to shoot drugs and pay to raise their own kids. Yet the items the government should be looking after like basic infrastructure is falling apart.

I voted NDP.
Never voted for them before, will this time -lessor of four evils theory.

I can find more to bad mouth about the others-less ( this time ) about Layton.

Lib or Conservative majority will be bad-Conservative because Harpers an American foriegn policy parrot/puppet, Liberals are lost, need Jack to keep them both in check.

I might vote for the Action Party, though-I meant to go talk to that fellow in my riding.

We could bad mouth the banks and NAFTA while cleaning our unregistered rifles....

The media was taken over by the CIA in 1975 when Bush '41 was sworn in as CIA chief-you know he negotiated to have not more than 25 CIA agents in the mainstream media as part of the deal to appoint him. eh. * eyes shift back and forth* :P

A little more seriously-Name an American foreign policy issue that Harper disagreed with . One he stated policy on.

I thought someone might mention that one. Harper , despite his rhetoric, is actually in agreement with the Americans on the arctic. There are a few treaties that come into play there, as you may know-the U.S is the only arctic nation that hasn't ratified the UN treaty-the one that gives you ten years to prove your claim. The Arctic states — Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Russia, have signed the Law of the Sea Convention-and the USA won't; perhaps understandably because it would muzzle or anchor their navy from freedom of action.

President Ronald Reagan refused to sign, and actually fired the U.S. State Department staff that had negotiated it-Reagan, as we may remember had built the U.S navy back up to an over 600 ship fleet.

I'm too lazy too type it up-Russia and Canada-signatories to the UN treaty had sent scientific teams to map the arctic,( spring of '07, I think ) working together to protect their mutual interest-each having ten years from ratification to geophysically prove the boundary ( Russia has less time than Canada, which is why they were planting the flag on the arctic bed a year or so ago, and validating that Losomov ( sp? ) ridge-critical to proving their claim.

Harper isn't advancing Canada's interest in the arctic-he's doing exactly what the Americans want him to-maintaining the handshake deal that Reagan and Mulroney made-the U.S wouldn't affirm or deny Canadian territorial claims-but they would still sail their Navy through Canadian waters-but they would first 'inform' Canada-and Canada in return, agreed to never deny permission.

I'm saving my vote for these guys till the next time the Liberals get in and reinstall their National Energy Program again aka The Green Shift.

I would quite seriously rather see Layton PM rather than Dion.
