Nope your wrong.
Just checked, the numbers look correct, except they don't include the "pay group" pay scale which is the new pay scale that new hires go on after 2 years of flat pay and returning furloughed pilots go on until they can hold the 320 right seat or higher....the "pay group' includes 340 rp, 767 rp, emb170/190 fo, and crj100 fo's until the crj's are removed from the fleet.

I would say you are correct on the Emb f/o salary but things would be pretty bad if you were sitting in that seat for 14 years.

I think that is comparable to a WJ or JG captain wage and the Emb will be the smallest airplane in the fleet once the RJ's are gone. It only goes up from there. The Emb Capt will be making about 130K. ( based on an 80 hr month )

Is it possible to get hired on as a 767 or 340 relief pilot, then bid captain on an RJ or 190/175 two or three or four years later, when you can hold the position? Or do you have to upgrade from an FO position.

In your first 2 years, you are frozen and the company can put you where they want. That could be directly into the 767 fo spot like they were doing in 96/97

After that, you can bid to whatever seat, base and airplane you can hold.

That was true JS but I beleve the new LOU with regard to the pay group states that all new hires will enter the sen. list via the pay group positions which are RP 340/767 or FO emb or ...until they are gone FO crj.
just found this

.05 Recall and new hire pilots will enter the Company via a position in the Position
Group.

29chev,

What do you mean by "pay group";
"the 'pay group' includes 340 rp, 767 rp, emb170/190 fo, and crj100 fo's until the crj's are removed from the fleet".
After two years what can a RP or FO expect to make (newhire)?

Thanks in Advance

To try to correct an imbalance in the pay for RJ f/o's who should have been on more Sr. equipment (Ie guys/gals on the rj makeing less than more Jr pilots working as 340 rps) they (AC) formed a Pay Group or Position group that would all get paid the same, this is for the bottom 300(aprox) pilots on the AC pilot list and all new hires such that they all get the same hourly rate based on a some what complicated formula that changes slightly every 2 months.
You stay in this group until you are sr enough to bid up to the next most Sr. postion which is A320 f/o which then puts you back on the standard pay scales that are for the rest of the pilot group this also prevents you as a pay group member from bidding back down to one of the stated positions with out going back to the pay group payscale...all this dispite other pilots at acpa being grandfathered to the old pay scale for these positions which can mean (for the 340 rp seats some one hired only days or weeks ahead of you can be makeing 30% more than you dispite doing the exact same job) This has become a big issue for the bottem 300.
after the 2 years you will go on the hourly rate posted until you can bid out of the position group.
Position Group pay rates for the May and Junel 2005 block months

Weighted hourly rate
Year Day--- Night--- 1/2 D&N
3----58.46-- 61.08----59.77

29 chev,

Just curious about the feeling regarding guys coming back to AC? Are many trying to avoid it and wait, or is this possible? That flat pay and pay group is unfortunate.

Air Canada's salary structure reminds me of that commercial where a chicken is used to peck on a computer keyboard to come up with ticket prices for flights

Having said that thanks to everyone for helping it to finally make sense, no small task it seems. I'll assume that the average FO new hire would be getting roughly 80 hours per month. Sucks that now it seems hours count again, what ever happened to fly less and get paid more?
