I feel really stupid asking this...
I was at a party with another couple who indicated they were friends with a couple - one of whom was a WJ pilot.
The story centered around layovers and a practice known as the "twelve o'clock knock" where the flight attendants would conduct a midnight hotel bed check. The door knock at twelve o'clock could be ignored (if you were prepared to sleep) or answered, if you were prepared to be tired the next morning.
