What's with the glamour shots?

Any idea why some of these companies are asking for head shots with resumes and cvr's? Seems a little odd-- Would hate to find out someone is building fake id's or something w/ all of your personal data.

It's fairly standard for SE Asia, and illegal to ask for in Canadian Hiring Practices.

I usually attach a shirtless picture of myself just so they know what a perfect specimen they're getting.
