Re: rcmp planes
I could be wrong but it's my understanding that you have to already be RCMP to get and RCMP flying gig. That's the bad news.
The good news is if you are already RCMP they will take you with just a bare mininimum hours.

RCMP Air Division is very hard to get into, they do not take just anyone, especially bare minimum hours!kevinsky18 wrote:The good news is if you are already RCMP they will take you with just a bare mininimum hours.
No The Air Division takes civilian members now and has been for awhile. No RCMP training required.kevinsky18 wrote:I could be wrong but it's my understanding that you have to already be RCMP to get and RCMP flying gig. That's the bad news.
From what I have heard they will be the first in Canada to have the Pilatus NG, not sure how many! And yes I beleive they are always hiring.Dusty 3 wrote:Does anyboyd know what the RCMP have in store with their airplanes, getting different ones... getting more of what they have.... are they hiring?
Re: rcmp planes
They are hiring and you don't have to be a member. In fact, they only hire civilian pilots now... the mins are around 3000 hours.

I spoke to some of the pilots a few years ago. They all seem to like it.

A friend of mine works for them up here and makes VERY GOOD money and likes the job very much. I think that if it weren't single engine work up here I'd be over there and I'd be retired 10 yrs earlier.
