First Air in Iqaluit
Anyone work for First Air in Iqaluit? Just wondering about the working and living conditions there for people on three week rotations.
Re: First Air in Iqaluit
I can asure you it is better than working for Canjet.
They have a good set up in Yellowknife from what I hear, so one can only assume it's O.K in Iqaluit

Re: First Air in Iqaluit
Firstly, I have not worked for First Air in maintenance but I have worked peripherally with them for some years in maintenance and am currently with First Air as a pilot.
They are redoing the cargo bulding and splitting it into 2 internally to give them a hanger that will hold at least 2 ATRs at the same time, maybe even 3. Not sure. I've been told it will have infloor heating but that is not confirmed. It's looking great.
JG, the base engineer or maintenance coordinator is a really good guy. Pleasant and I think very professional. Good spares and great experience. JM and PK, the night shift supervisors strike me as professional and knowledgeable. Both of them have in excess of 20 yrs with the company I believe.
I don't hear many complaints from the boys regarding the rotation in YFB and they do have an awsome crew house. Probably one of the best going.
Sorry I can't offer any more info.
Cheers,
ETTW

1. The company pays me to make money for it.
2. If the company doesn't make money neither do I
3. I still hate simulators

I haven't worked for Canjet for two years but I would think there are worse places to be. Thanks for the info.
