It's my understanding that when you visit the doctor, you're suppose to tell him/her you're a pilot. If he were to find something seriously wrong with you, it's his duty to report that to TC or whomever. If that answers your question...

I've had an intravenous pyelogram, twice in the past 8 years. While not exactly the same as an angiogram, from what I can tell, it's similar in that a contrast dye is injected into your vein and x-rays are taken to examine inside.

My aviation medical examiner knew about both of them and there was never an issue towards my medical certificate.

Obviously, common sense would be to consult an aviation medical examiner to discuss any medical procedure prior to having it done, to understand what effect (if any) it would have on your medical certificate.

(can) an angiogram ground a commercial licenced pilot
What a silly question. Of course it can. You must pass
all of the individual tests at your medical, or you're in
for real trouble.

For example, if you're blind as a bat, and can't read
the eye chart, you can expect from static from the
RAMO

There are no unnecessary tests on the medical,
which are put just there "for fun", like reciting
Hamlet's Soliloquy from memory.
