Re: AC to have RJs ?
Air Canada 971 appears to have been an EMB190 that flew from Cuba to Toronto today.

Was it perhaps this flight?

The only other possibility that I can think of is Atlantic Southeast Airlines whose call sign is "Acey". They fly into CYUL from Atlanta using CRJ's but I don't think they have time to do circuits in CYMX. As a Delta Connection airline, they are painted up in the delta colours so that can't explain the maple leaf on the tail.

Maybe its a combination of the latter two. Perhaps it was a new aircraft for ASA (Acey) but still being flown by the test pilots at Bombardier. They could have used the CD917 flight number but called themselves "Acey 917". Your guess is as good as mine.

Was it Air Canada 971 or Canadair 971. Canadair is one of the callsigns for Bombardier. I have seen (or heard fo a better word) ATC confuse them with Air Canada before.
Re: AC to have RJs ?
I suspect it's confused the same way I've heard Montreal center call us 'JetWest' before...

Re: AC to have RJs ?
A little off topic, but isn't ASA using "Chandler" as a call sign in the U.S., although I've never heard that in Canada. The only other possibility that I can think of is Atlantic Southeast Airlines whose call sign is "Acey".

Re: AC to have RJs ?
"Chandler" was ASA's call sign because they lost "Acey" to a military unit that had grandfathered rights to it. The unit was somehow changed and "Acey" was back up for grabbs... now it is back as ASA's callsign.
Re: AC to have RJs ?
Thanks Big M.A.C, I've got a good buddy at ASA and I always keep an ear out for him but I never hear chandler anymore, now I know what to listen for.
