Wow, a brent jang article where he's not ripping apart westjet or AC, this must be a first.
Re: A380 in YYZ
I think the fares will be high, but if you see the product, it'll make AC's looks like flying around in a twin otter. The wealthy will have to experience the spa shower, lounge bar and private cubicles in First Class. It's one of the best products in the world. Can't blame AC for protectionism...
Re: A380 in YYZ
The market out of Toronto is to the Sub continent. Sure there is some gulf traffic, but the bulk of it is destined to India, Delhi in particular. My guess is the plane is being sent to Toronto to capture this market. The seat costs are lower on that machine, and EK is very popular with the Indian market.A330 wrote:I think the fares will be high, but if you see the product, it'll make AC's looks like flying around in a twin otter. Three times a week is not attractive to a business market. Daily and double daily will capture more business market share that three times per week. It's a know fact.
I don't see AC as the competition here. BA is. And given their frequency and product, they'll capture greater market share of high yield traffic. EK may have the best first class product in the world, but the limited amount of first class traffic out of Toronto is to Europe and Asia and it's small. I'm not denegrating EK's product. I think, and I could be wrong, that the first class cabin will fly lightly as the main reason for that airplane deployed on YYZ is for the back of the bus market.
I have been wrong before.
