May 24th for sure. I've heard their still driving on 4 feet of ice right now and got 5 inches of snow last week. Hell its gonna snow down here in southern ontario next weekend. The ice just may never break up. As for who will be flying....ahhh...who cares....as long as its a takeoff and landing on floats...off of water (not ice burgerboy).

I drove by Howey bay this morning, There were a couple of ATV's bombing around on the ice still. However the water down by the balmertown bridge is open. There's about 10' of ice still around the shore but it's gonna be dockable in a couple of days.

I was out at the viking dock today, she still pretty white, not very dark ice yet.

I'm in Northeastern Ontario and by the looks of it I will be bringing my ice auger for May run. My guess is May 22 for break-up.

I went to camp today by boat. 15 miles down lake of the woods. little bit of ice breaking, most big parts(manitou, big stone bay)still white ice. another few days with this wind it'll be gone.

heard yxl's opening up, yrl should be similar. Still up in big trout bombing around in a -2 for the spring hunts, ice is gettin a little sketchy now.

Yeah, any reports from the west?? Planes started going in the water this week in YCN. Still can't go north as most of the lakes are still a week or two away from opening up. That being said, there wont be any fishing this long weekend for me as my usual walleye killing grounds 150 KM north of YCN is still ice auger territory.
