Tentative Contract?

Post by IFRATC »

A tentative contract has been achieved between Navcanada and CATCA on the 29th of March. Two days prior to the existing contract expiring. Voted unanimously by our 16 member bargaining commitee. It will be interesting to see what has been agreed to in the following days. Let the ratification tour begin!!!

Give then economic situation I am pretty happy with the agreement so far. I am also glad that the union stood up to NAV CAN on a few key issues!

As an FSS, we look at your (tentative) contract and agree. Not too shabby for these economic times. And with CAW pattern bargaining, we hope we will see a 50% sick leave buyout on the table in our next negotiations.

Congradulations! It looks like you did well. Hopefully we get some of those next year.

Anyone have any idea what this means for the FSS salary increase? 1%+1%+1%+1.5%=4.5% over a year and a half, which averages to a 3% increase a year. Is that what we can expect in May? How long does it usualy take for us to find out?

Sorry, this is my first contract negotiation.

It's 4.5% over the life of the contract. Plus we get weekend premiums which we haven't had before. That can add an extra .5% depending on your rotation and how you do the math. Lots of people are happy about the sick leave payout too. We didn't give up anything, so that's good in my books.
