The Real Season Begins!

So hockey fans, the playoffs are here!

I am really worried for the Canucks, Flames or Canadiens because by the time they get to the golf course, the Maple Leaf players are going to have some good solid practice already done for the season.

So who does everyone think is going to win it all?

We have the Canucks vs St. Louis
Flames vs Chicago
and Les Canadiens vs Boston

Which Canadian teams do you feel have the best shot at moving on?

For me (as a YVRite) I have to say the Canucks are going all the way this year. That being said, I think Vancouver and Calgary are moving on to Round 2.

I have to agree. I am a true Montreal Canadiens fan, but they played really bad at the end of the season. I doubt they will get very far in the playoffs.

First thing's first... GO HABS!!!

Vancouver got lucky in the first round pairing. But they are the weakest of the three teams. I think they'll beat St. Louis as long Mason doesn't put up a wall, which could very well happen.

Chicago has a lot going for them. Kane, Sharp, Toews, Versteeg, also some strong young D and Khabibulin, as well as a strong back-up. They've been hot as of lately and just have a young team in general... playoffs this would normally work against them, but I think it is reversed here. The whole Chicago atmosphere is just crazy right now having not made the playoffs in so long. My prediction... the Flames are going down. It won't be a blowout, but the Hawks have got this one.

Montreal vs. Boston could go either way... Boston has the better team, but for anyone that watched last Thursday's game, you see why that doesn't matter. Montreal beats Boston in playoff hockey. Boston was seeded first vs. Montreal several years ago and Montreal won the series 4-1. I'm giving this one to Montreal.


Yes, I'm a Habs fan and I dislike the two other teams but that truly does have nothing to do with my predictions... or maybe I have the picks ass backwards... only time will tell.

As for the other series... Caps over the Rangers, Devils over the Canes, Pens over Flyers, Sharks over Anaheim and just because I've only picked one upset, I'll take the Jackets over the Wings. I just really want to see the Wings gone at an early stage...
