God Speed to one of our own!
Learned of the passing of Captain Rick Wilson this evening. A sad day for all of us who knew, met or worked with him. A true Gentlemen flyer! God Speed!

Don't know what to say? Survived a Tutor ejection, and a motorcycle accident not so long ago that would of killed someone of smaller stature. Can't believe he's gone?? A true gentleman in all respects of the word. God speed indeed Rick!

Just got the bad news today about Rick, a shock, noone here knew of a problem. I'd like to extend condolences from all of us here at Enerjet that knew Rick well and had the privilege to fly with him over the years, he will be sorely missed for sure.

Great fellow indeed and will certainly be missed by myself and our company.

I have a fond memory of Rick which I'd like to share, I saw him Christmas Day in Toronto, he was halfway through a bottle of Appleton's. We chatted about his land in the Annapolis Valley and his dream of building a house there.
In heaven there is a view from South Mountain and a bottomless bottle of Appleton's.
Godspeed my fellow aviator.

Just because you're not paranoid, doesn't mean no-one's out to get you.

I'll never forget the day Rick & I blasted over my Mom's house in PEI, barely 500 AGL in a T-33. The cat didn't come home for a month.
Godspeed, old friend.
Godspeed, old friend.
I want to die like my grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming in terror like his passengers...

Rick was a class act, bar none. One of the finest men I have ever had the pleasure to share a flight deck with. He will be missed.
Condolences to his widow and family...

Great tribute posts. Our prayers are with his wife Goldie and family!
Here is a link to a clip that would be Rick's type of perspective.

I met Captain Wilson back in January when he permitted myself and Captain N.T. to
jumpseat from YLW-YVR in our quest to get to work.
It was obviously a short flight, but I remember him telling the both of us jumpseaters what a 'good ride' this WestJet thing had been. Sounds like a man who lived the 'Half Full' side of life.
Cheers, Captain.
