Switching Schools
Hey all!
I started my Class 4 training at a school in the GTA, but after almost a month, I got just under 12 hrs of G/B and no flying time. As this is going painfully slowly, I'd like to change schools.
If I get my PTR signed off, would the next school recognize the hours done, or will they try to make me do everything all over again. I know that technically I should be fine, but I never had to do this and I'd like to know what usually happens in this case.
Thanks
BTW: Any schools in the GTA or anywhere really have a Class 1 available full time?

Re: Switching Schools
Even though when I emailed the school before, I got a reply from that email address, you have a valid point.Tim wrote:maybe edit that email add out and send it in a pm? id be pissed if someone put my personal email on a public forum

Re: Switching Schools
Can't you guys share your thoughts on that? I'm kinda in a same situation and I'm curious of what I should be doing. Thanks.
Re: Switching Schools
If you've already done 12 hrs of ground briefing, the next school would continue where you left off. If they are trying to get you to redo it, don't go there; the practical Class 1 will have enough experience to see where you're at and go on from there.
And 12 ground briefing hours is not that bad for a month dude. Unless they promised that they were going to give you an instructor rating in 6 weeks.

Re: Switching Schools
What school are you currently going to? Why no flying time?
Re: Switching Schools
It's normal for some schools to get you up to snuff with the ground work and then start the flying. You know, get the harder stuff out of the way kind of attitude

I agree. Flying is the easy and fun part. Good idea to get some of the ground stuff figured out first, then when you fly you'll have something to talk about. It's normal for some schools to get you up to snuff with the ground work and then start the flying.
