I'm not a fan of either team in the East, but we are guaranteed a Thunder Bay boy in the finals... and if the Hawks beat Detroit, then the Cup is coming to Thunder Bay for sure.

I'd just really like to see Pens/Hawks too... Detroit is boring and won a lot in the recent past and Carolina... well, I just don't like them. My ex-roommate is a big fan and I find I always grow to hate the teams of my roommates. Plus, they took out the Habs in '07 (?)

I'm just a fan of good hockey, and both these series promise a show. Judging by the first two periods in the Chi/Det game, we're in for a treat.

Hawks are in tough against the "red" team. If Quenville gets them settled down, this promises to be a fantastic series. Hawks in 7.

I cant stand either Carolina or the Pens.. so i`ll go with the wunder kid crosby and Pens in 6.

Im looking forward to some great hockey!

Pens first two goals were not good ones. The first one was a break away, but Ward looked sloppy... the second goal was a floater that should have been saved. That said, he played excellent the rest of the game and I think he'll bring that A-game for the rest of the series.

Should be a good one... I guess I'm cheering for the Pens, but it really makes no difference to me. It's the Wings who I really, really, really want to see fall. But they're damn good... but just so damn boring. It's like watching a bunch of robots out there.

It was a good game last night and the Hawks showed they can play with the Europeans..ermm I mean Detroit.

Does anybody know or heard rumours about what happened with Nik Habiboulin(sp??)
He was playing an awesome game and none of those 3 goals in 4 mins were his fault. He made some amazing saves in the 1st period and played well the 1st 10 mins of the 2nd. Is there a personal issue between Quenville and him? Kinda reminded me of the Patrick Roy thing a few years back when he walked off the bench in protest to his coach.

Either way, intresting game and if the Hawks take tomorrow afternoons game.. Its a brand new series that they still can win!

PS.. Yes, I know the refs surely assisted the Hawks last night. That 5 min major in the 1st is a joke. It was a HARD a$$ hit but very clean! Maybe a 2 min interference call but NOT 5 mins and a game!

I think it was just the right thing to do... maybe. Just my opinion, but 3 goals in that short of time can really rattle a tender. He probably would have been off his game to say the least and if they lost, he would have been the obvious blame and scapegoat for the whole team.

It will however be interesting to see what happens next game... Huet or Khabibulin? I have a feeling Huet will start, which I don't think is right. You're then asking for trouble as to who to start thereafter. Put Khabibulin back in... he got the team this far and he is a better tender than Huet. If anything, maybe give him a rest on Sunday, but after that, it's his cup run, not Huet's.

Anyway, they gotta win tomorrow's game and if they do, well... could be very interesting.

If the Canes lose tonight, which they probably will, they're done for...

Lower body injury on Khabibulin... didn't know that. He will likely NOT play in an hour for Game 4. Huet's a good tender though... he's really good when he's on his game, so hopefully he pulls out a win for the Hawks this afternoon. Detroit will probably be missing Draper and Datsyuk as well, so that's good news for the Hawks.

Welllllll...The boys were schooled today. Detroit is a machine. No one can touch em this year:( Its over for the Hawks now. I would be shocked if they came back from that kind of beating. Detroit could have won 20-1 today.. They were just playin shimmy by mid 2nd period.

The only good news is this kinda thing happened to the Oilers 26 years ago when the NYI beat them 4 straight. The Hawks are young and will bring the cup to Chicago before their done. Its not over, but might as well be.

Ill still be cheerin for them in Detroit! Go Hawks

Yes, that was certainly ugly... the back up got pulled and they were playing their 3rd stringer... LOL. Oh, well... I'm pretty sure it's over this year and I don't think the Pens have what it takes to beat Detroit. My guess is Detroit's getting back to back Cup final victories... but I'll be cheering for the Pens regardless.

I just hope they move up the Cup final Game 1 if Pens and Wings win next games... it's scheduled pretty late right now.
