Is there some sort of review school? I just got back from getting my A&P and the "school" I used basically just had the testing key and made you memorize it (2600 questions) then let you take practice tests, untill you were ready to take the real one.

Not to sound cruel, but if you are having this much trouble with the material, perhaps you should reconsider your choice. Ask yourself if you were flying on an aircraft would you be concerned if you knew your ame had failed his powerplant exam that many times?

How long have you been doing this?

Try red river college in Red River MB. They do a couple courses per year all your exams are done there including cars at the end. Very good set up and I think you can do just certain tests if you have already passed some exams. I think it's like 1.5 weeks per section then the test.

Good luck!

Red River is located in Winnipeg at the International Airport or at Southport just outside of Portage La Prairie about 45 mins. from Winnipeg.

I'm guessing from this post that English isn't your first language. Transport Canada exams can be tough for those of us who are good with English and they can be nearly impossible for those who are not. If I'm right (about your English), then I think that you should focus on your English skills before you try again.

Good Luck

If you're gonna fail the exam and you're coming on here looking for tips and tricks, I think the answer is to learn the material.

quick question about red river, is that cars for your licence or just an intro type thing for cars? also side question does bill fraser work there? both of these are curiosity, cause I think I paid a tad too much for my schooling, but on the other hand Im glad I dont have to write the tech exams

Maybe to help you out. I am using the ASA prepware to prepare for my TC exams and the wording is somewhat similar to the TC questions. This helps you to get your mind set to types of questions they are asking. I can empathize with you on this as I have failed a exam here too(as quite a few people I have talked to have dumped one of these exams). I am not looking for a set of answers for the exam but a understanding of the interpretation of the question. For those out there who think just because someone has a hard time with exams this makes them a poor mech I can tell you from experience that I have worked a lot a book smart super mechs who are all thumbs when it comes to the job. Granted there are people who are not suited for this line of work and I hope that they realize this sooner than later for their sake. There is a lot of great jobs in the aviation industry if you love the type of work. I hope you do well. Another resource is the jeppesen maint course books as I know that some of the questions are directly from this publication. You might be able to find these on ebay or go to the book site itself. Also look into a dvd course by king schools for this. Its a bit pricey 300 dollars but the instruction while built for the A&P goes into detail and is quite comprehensive and might help you understand the TC lingo. I'd say good luck by you don't need it.
