Where to buy Telex Stratus 50D in Canada?

I know there has been a pile of threads on headsets but I've been looking for a Canadian dealer with competative prices.

I've done some searching and ask for forgiveness from the search cops.

I've just sent my DC X-11 back for the 2nd time. Not happy with it. Want a Telex. Wanna know where to get one.

Why not order from the states, the exchange rate is pretty favorable now and prices are cheaper.

I got my 50D from Aircraft Spruce in the States a year ago when the Canadian dollar was above the US dollar. After shipping and customs I saved just shy of $100 of what it would've cost me to get through their Canadian store.

I always hear about David Clark stories, so here is my boost for Telex. My Telex 50D's had an issue on battery power (broken wire somewhere). I sent them to Telex and even though the warrantee was expired they fixed the problem, fixed an issue with the battery box, and sent it back to me UPS, all for no charge.

They look a little funny but I think they are the best out there if you are still stuck behind a propeller. I often forget to turn the noise reduction on with mine (you won't forget with Bose), and the big ear seals are great if you wear a ball cap and sunglasses. Also, the cell phone and Ipod attachments are great.

I got mine from Calgary Pilot Supply. Good people there.

If you can find a good Canadian retailer, go for it, it's a great headset!

But if not, there are many options in the states to get it shipped from. I personally got mine from Marv Golden. Great service and a decent price.

Another option is pilotshop.com, I've gotten many things from them and the service has always been good, someone will deal with you one on one if needed and the prices are usually close to the lowest. Only reason I didn't buy mine there was they had no stock. (it was during the change from the ugly original two toned headset to the new, in my opinion nicer black ones. No one had the new ones, and other were running out of the old ones)

I have been thinking about trying to sell mine and get a bose or zulu headset, its been used for about 6 months and i purchased it at aviation world in Vancouver ( I still have the receipt and box, manual) I dont like how it fits me, i think ihave big ears.. maybe that has something to do with it.
