Not really Michael because you are an ordinary Canadian citizen working under the dictates of the ruling class in Tower C in Ottawa.

They truly believe they are somehow above us and thus we can be treated with utter contempt.

For sure it will be interesting to see what response I get from Prusse's replacement.

Lets hope he is smart enough to actually review my file before he answers me.

Hedley, I won't bother with the quotes, you know what you said, ... I guess since nobody else is challenging it, I'll have to... It's nice to hear you're so proud to fly the American flag, but you need to know, when you are in Quebec, you are still inside Canada. No BS please. I don't know why you confuse the beaurocracy you hate with what the country is, but that's your choice...

Awesome photos! Thanks for posting 'em. Very nice looking little airplane.

Cheers,
Mitch

Damned straight
when you are in Quebec, you are still inside Canada
Never been to Quebec before, huh?
I don't know why you confuse the beaurocracy (sp) you hate with what the country is
You completely misunderstand. I don't hate the Canadian
government, but years and years of pretty peculiar behaviour
on their part - which resulted in a Federal Court Order "enjoining"
them from their campaign, which they simply ignore - might
indicate that they don't like me and my family very much, but
that's their problem, not mine. Their actions, towards me
and others in the past, reflect very poorly upon the government.

As you might understand, it will be a cold day in Hell before I fly
the flag of the government of Canada on my airplanes.

You think I hate Canada. Far from it. I am enormously
disappointed as to what Canada has degenerated into.

My family used to run Canada - see the "Family Compact"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_compact

and my great-great-great-grandfather Sir John Beverley Robinson:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_John_Beverley_Robinson

would surely puke on your shoes if he saw what Canada
has degenerated into today.

You might not think so, but I think I am entitled to my
opinion on this subject. And so, I proudly fly the US flag
where ever in the world I might travel.
Awesome photos! Thanks for posting 'em
Thank you. Frankly, I think the photography (and the
conditions) were more remarkable than the flying

P.S. Someone was asking about the technical photographic
details. I got this back from my buddy, I don't understand
a single word of it:
Most of the data is embedded in the images ('exif' data) and can be read by appropriate applications. :)

That said, common denominator between the photos is body Nikon D300, Nikon AF-S VR 70-200mm f2.8 G IF-ED lens, Nikon TC-14E Teleconverter. Most of these were shot aperture priority at F/8.0 because I wanted to avoid apertures that aren't great for the zoom lens+teleconverter combo. I was applying an exposure compensation of +2/3EV on account of taking photos of a plane against bright sky. Mainly this equates to about 1/400 to 1/600 second. ALL of these shots were handheld, I find that it is very awkward to be lugging tripods and even a monopod through crowds, and when following an aircraft that is doing aerobatics either one can be quite awkward (believe me I've been there, done that). The VR feature is pretty useful for producing tolerable hand held shots at modest shutter speeds.

Canadians spell the same way as Americans, talk the same way as Americans, call aeroplanes Airplanes like Americans, drive on the wrong side of the road like Americans...
It's Manifest Destiny don't you know!

As for Quebec... That's where British law was once welcomed by the French Canadians after they realised it was better than French law, but it is also where the rights of Canadians, who do not speak that fading language as a first language, were taken away.
On this side of the continent you can put Chinese above English and in bigger type and nobody bothers that much!

The world is developing, the English we speak today is very different to Elizabethan English... Every language and every culture develops.
Laws against natural development only create trouble as mankind must move onwards.

So which flag are you going to put next to the American one?
The Quebec flag? or the Canadian flag?

Who can explain the flag of Montreal? :D

Instead of fighting for this country you have ran down to the states for your rights; but yet you live within MY boarders.
Sorry to sound confused here but what makes it " your " boarders, isn't Hedley a Canadian citizen?

I am a Canadian and was denied the right to earn a living in Canada by Canadian government bureaucrats with far to much power.

Do you fell that I also brought my problems with TC on myself and thus deserved to have my rights as a Canadian denied me?

By the way like Hedley I prefer to fly anywhere else but Canada for the simple reason they do not deny me the right to do so.

Cat I can not comment on what TC did to you as I do not know anything of that story, I know from many of your posts you have gone around the ring several times with TC and our government.
Actually I have only been two legal disputes with TC.

The first was in 1975 when I took TC to court for not backing me up in my duties as chief pilot with Air West Airlines.

I won my case hands down.

The second time was in 2001 when I filed a complaint about a TC inspector who was acting far beyond his authority as a TCCA inspector.

That one was not as successful because TCCA refused to acknowledge the complaint as neing valid and it escalated up the chain of command beyond the DGCA to the DG Transport Canada.

I won on all forty one issues that were at play in the legal proceedings and proved beyond any reasonable doubt that several high level TCCA management people not only were dishonest but were guilty of breaking the very laws they are sworn to uphold, including the DGCA Merlin Preuss.

That legal battle with TCCA was only successful in that I won on the legal level, however they have yet to pay me one cent of the money they agreed to pay me if I won my case.

Not only did they refuse to reimburse me for my losses they forced me to work outside of Canada for the remainder of my career.

Therefore I am of the opinion that Canada is worse than any of the third world countries I worked in over the remainder of my career, and I have worked in many third world countries.
Thanks for your time and your calm way of dealing with my rant, I know you are friends with Hedley and you could have taken the stance of rabid defender of your I-net buddy.
I have never met Hedley outside of electronically here on Avcanada, I do however share his opinion of how morally corrupt the regulator is at the top.

It is difficult as a Canadian citizen to be proud of a country that is run by moral degenerates like the present DGCA and a few of his high level subordinates.

It is even more difficult when one has been driven out of business and out of the country by the very same powerful degenerates.

That is not a rant on my part it is fact backed up by legal documents.

you will get no sympathy from me
When did I say I wanted your sympathy (or anyone else's?)
your actions have set aviation in Canada back numerous times
What idiocy. Maybe someday, I will be able to fly an aircraft
as well as you, EngineGuy  I am sure you are flying in
your Adrie, AB airshow, that you keep advertising here for -
will you post some pictures of your low-altitude tumbles?

I am currently using the Clarityaloft headset and really like it.
My budky bought the next model up with the moulded ear pieces that have no mic boom.
We tried it today and he said it was very good.
Both models work well under leather helmets and for us vintage pilots, we look more authentic without a mike boom.
I highly recommend them.

Glad you like them! My friends Rick Volker (who flies
a Sukhoi) and Freddy Cabanas (who flies a P-51) both
highly recommend the Clarity Aloft to me, and those
are pretty noisy cockpits.
