Conversion of US FAA A&P/IA cert to M1/M2.

Post by US AvTech Exams »

New to the site, good topics. I'm looking for any certificated mechanic that has in recent months converted a US A&P/IA to a TC M1 or M2. I have read the regulations, I'm not looking for how to do it, just the experience of the change over. 32 years on Mil/civ exp. rescue Helos, turboprops and recips. Now I teach A&P's and IA's Moto "Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt". The Swede.

I think the biggest problem you will have is the education part, and the tracking of experiance. I just did it the other way and by your log in name I did it with you. Anyway I digress, you will have to talk to TC (403) 292-5227 this is the Calgary office. The inspectors are pretty easy to deal with, but its a hell of a lot easier to get you're A&P than you're AME, and there are no schools like Avtech set up in Canada, although I would be willing to bet your answer keys are pretty close! Good luck
