Gleim prep test for Canadian to US conversion
I have all my paper work in order and medical done to do my Canadian to FAA Commercial license conversion. I just need to write the exam now.
Any feed back on the Gleim online course, specificaly the Commercial License Conversion version?
Are there any other practice / test prep courses out there? I like to over prepare for this sort of stuff.

I'm sure much the same for the ATPL/ATR so here are my thoughts.
Do the online bit and bite the bullet when it comes to the nav/TAS/when will we get there/how much fuel will remain/what will the winds be/how much this or that can you do. Know the regs and how many life preservers you will need for a remote flight to a desolate island with no IFR alternate flight.
Dr Gleim himself will send you an email saying you are good to go. Take that down to your local test center and spend $100 and 10 minutes writing the 40 question exam. Congratulations.
If you do a multi engine ride in the USA it is imperative that you understand a Canadian multi IFR does not cover a single engine IFR in the USA is a separate check. IT IS NOT THE SAME BETWEEN CANADA AND THE FAA! You have been advised. That was a $50 000 lesson for me so don't do the same

You can interpret that however you would like.

Thanks.
Puddle jumper did you do the commercial or private conversion?
I have to pick up a US registered 206 and ferry it back next week. I haven't given myself much time to write this test once I arrive so I want to make sure I nail it the first round.

Re: Gleim prep test for Canadian to US conversion
I did the online Gleim thing for the FAA ATP conversion. They really can't make it any easier other than having someone there next to you during the test to tell you the answers.
Due to the Freedom of Information Act, or something along those lines, all the questions are available to the public. All Gleim does, is take the specific questions for your specific needs and put them into a package.
Do the online dealio in a day, go write the test in 20 minutes, get over 90% without trying, take the results and your other paperwork to the FSDO, and you're in business.

I too can vouch for the Gleim prep.
Re: Gleim prep test for Canadian to US conversion
Which course or prep did you use for the ATP conversion. The Gleim website has a couple of ATP books and courses. I just want to do the conversion.
Thanks,

Before you do this, you have to have the letter of verification from the FAA. When you apply for that letter, you have to specify to the FAA which specific FSDO you plan to take your exam results to. So make sure the FSDO you plan to go to, is what you told the FAA during the paperwork stage.

I've used Dauntless Software for all half million exams I've taken. I'm a walking endorsement for their software. Not expensive and a great setup for studying.
