Hi looking to move to Canada in the future when the market improves, I am currently in Australia and fly Beaver/Van amphibian, I will have about 2200hrs TT and about 1000hrs on floats. I have done the research and know how to transfer my license and the visa is not an issue for me, so I will either have residence or long term work permit.
What I would like to know is the best area's to look for work and if the operators will take my hours serious as the are not from CA. I also work as an unlicensed engineer and know the Beaver pretty well so I hope that would help, I have no objection to living very remote.
Any advice on the subject would be great, where to go, pay, what the operators want etc etc. I'm not planning to move until your market improves as I understand things are pretty tough right now.

Re: foriegn float pilot/engineer
You will probably do very well with a small-ish operator on the BC Coast or the Island.
Try Saltspring Air.
Personally, I've always liked working with pilots who are mechanically inclined.
Best of luck.
