whoa..easy there big guy.
Rig it correctly. Then spend about about .75 of a day rigging the other side because someone totally fucked it up last time.

I used to rig these all the time. They can be very touchy. Make sure everything else is rigged first, low idle, high idle, etc. But especially make sure the flight idle is proper. The thing I did to make it a little easier was to mark the brackets with a fine tip marker. That way you can see the amount of each adjustment and can decide how much more, or less, is needed. I used a ratchet with a good extension to reach down that far, save my arms from burning, and did the run ups without a top cowl. Adjust as required by the manual. When done, I scribed the brackets for next time. That gave me a close starting point for future adjustments.
Without maintenance, pilots are just pedestrians with cool sunglasses and jackets.

Exactly - 'dash' was totally pitifull and all too typical of what you get on here. Why bother saying 'RTFB"? That's B.S.ame25 wrote:thanks elf, exactly what i was looking for......not some smart ass comment like dash123!
If a guy comes on here and asks for pointers, if you don't know fcuk all, maybe stay the 'f out of it.
MOST jobs in this biz are not done exactly by the book and anybody who knows anything knows that.
There's no shortage of 'those who can't' who will just tell you to go read the book. That is always easier than actually knowing anything and certainly much easier than trying to teach it.
It does not mean that the AME certifying the work shouldn't also have to understand the Standard and the reference material but that was not what was being asked for.
Considering we are a bunch of individuals with expertise, experience and abillity to fix things, it sure amazes me how long it takes to get a real answer on something.
