Instructing

Post by 100LL81 »

I am looking for some advice on instructing. I have heard from various people, including some Major airline captains to stay away from instructing if possible. Is this true and what is the reason, someone once explained that the time is just not counted for full time because instructing you are always in good weather, sometimes not flying, etc... Is it just going to take more time to get anywhere, for example someone wants 1000TT, would you need 2000TT if it was instructing. If this is the case then I have no problem with this. I just want to get flying and if it is instructing or waiting months then it is a no brainer to me. My perdiciment is that I am about to finish my CPL and my instructors and the school have been asking me all along to consider coming to instruct for them because they really like me. Is it stupid to pass this up?

Thanks
