Travelling with firearms?
Greetings.
I cannot find any policy in WJ's website regarding travelling with firearms.
I also cannot find an email address for general inquires, and called the 1-800 number, but hung up after being on hold for too long for being on a cell phone.
Any chance that members here have an idea?
Thanks!

Re: Travelling with firearms?
Not sure how helpful this will be but there is some information on the following site:
WestJet Guest Information for Baggage and Carry-on
From the drop down list there is an entry for "Firearms and Ammo". However, it says that "Approval of WestJet is required" but doesn't indicate how to get that approval...
There is also information at the following link (scroll down for firearms) that might also be what you're looking for:
WestJet Baggage Information - Scheduled Flights

Thanks CD, I obviously didn't scroll down far enough on the WJ link you provided, when I was surfing it.

Re: Travelling with firearms?
Why not just pack them up securely in their case, and put them in the hold with everything else? Easier to ask forgiveness than permission! Why does the carrier need to know at all - without ammunition, they are inert chunks of metal, just like golf clubs, fishing rods or bicycles..
Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

Agreed 100% North Shore. Most will do it for free, if it's within your baggage allowance, and in approved containers.
It seems a big enough deal that AC charges $50 each way
Thanks again CD.
