Me thinks Kirsten that folks here are trying to say something ! "We love you" and i think they are also trying to say "We want you to find employment in this industry in the form of aviation safety" and we will stand behind you !!!

Darn good idea, bright. Timing is kind of bad, though, unless someone in Ottawa nominates her and runs the forms down to TC tomorrow or the next day.

Kirsten, just saw the You-Tube vid - you did great !!
Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace. The soul that knows it not, knows no release from the little things; knows not the livid loneliness of fear, nor mountain heights where bitter joy can hear the sound of wings.

Great video, I'll leave it for the subject if she wants to share it or not
.
I am proud of Kirsten and her strength of spirit. I am proud of the aviation community for having the conscience to recognize it. We can be pretty oblivious sometimes.
Hoping for a safe New Year for all...

Cheque for $20 gratefully in the mail (hope the stamp stays on - wouldn't stick - had to glue it in place).
Sorry it wasn't in time for Christmas but you can buy something for the kids anyway (or maybe treat yourself to a new snow shovel
).
Just think, she now knows everybody's real names - NOW THAT IS POWER!

Re: "Widow" Appreciation Fund
Kirsten, I hope you had a wonderful holiday season !!
Im wondering if a new name and a new hope and a new job may be in the offering ?? Im thinking instead of "widow" how about "Inspector Kirsten" or " "Inspector Cloussaeu "
Have you considered the aviation safety field ? Advocate for safety overall ? Im on the edge of my seat , help me here LOL !

Re: "Widow" Appreciation Fund
Our JAA inspector is - wait for it - Inspector Clouseau. He is a Belgian. The place gets really silly when his presence is imminent.

Although, in case you didn't catch it on another thread ... the Sea to Sky Chapter of Women in Aviation is hosting a Leadership/Safety Forum next month and have invited me to speak (viewtopic.php?f=54&t=49575). I'm very excited/nervous and feel quite honoured to have been invited - as an outsider

I also have plans to go to Ottawa in the next couple of months ... assuming the House is sitting.
So, there you have it. The "widow" is still advocating, and has no plans to cease and desist ...
Edited to add: There were almost 150 "donations" received. Several of you also sent along emails/letters with ideas and suggestions ... I apologize for not having replied yet, but do hope to find the time to do so within the next month.

It can be low on the priority list; we all understand you have your hands full, and we know you appreciate all the help you can get. Don't worry about it!I apologize for not having replied yet, but do hope to find the time to do so within the next month.
I am also excited that you have been invited to speak in advocacy at those conventions. It shows that you have developed credibility in the industry, and this is one industry where there is high value placed on it. The last thing we want in an advocate is someone who is scatterbrained, narrowly informed, and doesn't have their finger on the pulse of the industry. You are none of those things...thank the Lord!
Re: "Widow" Appreciation Fund
Ladies and Gentlemen...the holiday season is fast approaching, and I thought it might be a good idea to resurrect this thread for the 2nd Annual Christmas fund.
I can spare a 6 pack this weekend...
how about you guys/gals?

So, put down the beer. Go over to your cheque book and write a cheque for TWELVE DOLLARS. How did we come up with that number? Because we can all afford twelve bucks. That's 7 medium Timmies. Less than two decks of smokes. That's ONE dollar a month for a year. But, it's enough to make a Christmas a little brighter.
Send your cheque for $12 (you could send more, but I don't want it to be a competition. And I want it to come from as many of you as we can get)

One more thing. Post a reply here, so we know who to thank.
Many thanks, and everybody have a great Christmas!

I'm in! Widow, could you post your mailing address for those of us planning snail mail, and big thanks again for your advocating for us out there. Saw, you TV and meeting with the safe skies guys, keep up the good work! Lets get everyone one board again this year.
Think of it this way, how many fees did you pay to TC this year and what did they do to improve our industry. I'd venture to say Widow is doing more for aviation safety out of passion and determination then most nicely paid 8am-4pm TC worker in their comfy desk.
I'm sending $25 this year, and I challenger others to do the same. Much cheaper then your annual medical exam, plus you don't get violated!

Thanks Invertago. Mailing address is the same ... it's in the first post of the thread which ILSfan07 reposted above.
Boy this thread brought back some memories. So much has happened in the last year.
