Track down the local FAA flight standards office and they will have a list of test centers and AMO's (fAA website). You'll need a letter from your local transport office to confirm your license and a letter from your employer stating why you need a A&P, basically confirming that you are working on N-Registered stuff. They just don't let you write and get it any more they are pretty protectionist, so be fore warned. You're going to have to deal with the FSO first because of the 8610-2 form anyway. I just went through a "school" in Riverside CA www.avtech-exams.com. If you bust your butt you can bang it off in a week, it's definatly more expensive but its canned and if you bung up a test you can re-write asap as opposed to the 30 day waiting period. Its still pretty easy but there are some hoops if your not a yank. Good luck PM me if you have some more questions.

If you're talking about the written exams, there's a "Lazergrade" facility right on Boeing field that administers them. I forget what the FBO is called but you can get a specific address if you call lazergrade (lasergrade? whatever... don't remember). There's a bunch of info on the FAA website too, that's how I figured it all out.
The FAA website will also give a list of all the DME's for the oral/practical portions in the area of your choice, again, that's how I found it. I can't recommend a specific one though because due to scheduling issues I had to go to Montana to do the oral/practical exams.
Hope this helps a bit.
I didn't get a letter from TC (because they actually wouldn't GIVE me one, saying that I didn't NEED one...) but dealing with the FAA office in Seattle was a real treat. Super nice guys, very helpful and when I told them that TC was actually telling me I didn't need a letter (contrary to the FAA's own website...) they laughed and told me to just "bring everything you got" (licenses, endorsements, log books, certificates, you know what I mean). Just try to deal with the same people either over the phone or by email so you can establish some kind of relationship. That's the other nice thing about them, they actually reply to emails and answer the phone!
I'm telling you, if getting this A&P means not having to deal with TC anymore then it's the best thing I ever did!

Nothing holds like a good, tight crossthread.
