FogDuck, I hear ya... It's obviously a ploy to tax us.. why would 'they' give a @#$! about us if 'they' couldn't make money off of us.. the only time 'they' will do anything for us is if 'they' get something for it.
Anyways, you should check these.. I don't know if you have an old lady or if she has sensitivities, but if you do and she does I suggest you watch these solo..
You can watch them without the silverlight plug in by pressing 'play now' and then clicking 'play without silverlight'

Great site Siddley ... I'm going to bookmark that one and check it in detail .... I like the guy's attitude. If Dennis Miller holds it in high regard, I'm likely to enjoy it.

Yup ....looks like she's getting all worked up to go into the office the next day and re-edit the 4 hours of raw Sarah Palin tape to have her answer more trumped up questions to make her look as bad as possible to satisfy the needs of the downtown Manhattan Sex In The City crowd.
After all, its all about ratings isn't it?

Re: Paging Algore! Cleanup in isle 7!
The Day Global Warming Stood Still
From the mainstream press we read, “As scientists confirm the earth has not warmed at all in the past decade, others wonder how this could be and what it means for Copenhagen. It will be a very cold winter of discontent for the warm-mongers. The climate show-and-tell in Copenhagen next month will be nothing more than a meaningless carbon-emitting jaunt, unable to decide just whom to blame or how to divvy up the profitable spoils of climate change hysteria. [1]
Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe, the leading Republican on the Environment and Public Works Committee said, “Until this year, any scientist, reporter or politician who dared raise even the slightest suspicion about the science behind global warming was dismissed and repeatedly mocked. Today I have been vindicated.”
And then we find out that hackers broke into the computer network run by the Hadley Climate Research Unit, removing 61 megabytes of e-mails and data, which they promptly spilled onto the Web and reveal something startling: The scientists at Hadley, one of the world’s leading climate change study centers, aren’t scientifically objective at all. If true, this is massive scientific fraud.
etc etc more here

What does that picture prove? Farcical posts only detract credibility from your legitimate ones.

SCM ... I presume you are well aware that male Polar Bears will kill and eat a cub whenever the opportunity presents itself?
This is normal ... not aberrant behaviour. Unless you intend to scare schoolchildren.

I am aware of that TOF. If, as the report points out, the number of bear cubs killed increases as the years go by, that could indicate a reduction in the bears hunting habitat due to global warming. As always there are no specifics and pointing out a single event is inconclusive. It's simply another thing to track over the years.

Re: Paging Algore! Cleanup in isle 7!
Or there are a hell of a lot more bears than there used to be. When they began counting those things 50 - 60 years ago, the estimated population of polar bears world wide was 5,000 animals. I say 5,000 because there were no numbers available from the USSR. Today there's an estimated 20,000 bears worldwide.I am aware of that TOF. If, as the report points out, the number of bear cubs killed increases as the years go by, that could indicate a reduction in the bears hunting habitat due to global warming.

I like Rex Murphy because he's a hoot when he's doing what he does best, which is comment on political matters. But he's as unqualified to pass judgement on environmental science as you or I.

Is anyone really surprised? After all how can a guy have a one-sided propaganda campaign if he has to answer basic questions or have to defend his position with fact?canwhitewolf wrote:Climategate emails force Al Gore to cancel talk at Copenhagen

I love that shit-eating grin on slaphead Mansbridge at the end though. As if to say yeah, but Murphy's crazy!
I bet the brain trust at the Climatechange Broadcast Corp. would have loved to muzzle Murphy on that piece, as the CBC spends so much of its resources bashing the government on its lack of climate change action i.e: prudence, due-diligence, not drinking the cool aid....

OK, let's talk about common sense for a minute. What does your common sense tell about the statement "there is no danger in sealing yourself up in your garage with the car's engine running"? On a macro scale that is exactly what we're doing to our atmosphere, but according to you and many people like you there is no danger. This despite the scientific community saying there is.
There is a clear agenda by the energy industry to foil any attempt to curb carbon emissions because it means the end of their coveted business (not really, but they lack the imagination to see a future beyond it). They are funding a robust campaign against it featuring misinformation, false propaganda and outright lies that have been exposed time and time again. Despite that however they still manage to recruit lots of people like you who can somehow disregard the warnings of the only people qualified to give it.
Why is that? Why do people ignore the warnings of basically the entire scientific community in favour of industrialists who clearly have different priorities and expertise?
Since I lack the expertise and direct knowledge myself, common sense tells me to heed the advise of those that do. Kind of like the trust passengers place in us everytime they step on an airplane. Common sense also tells me that the end result of taking action even if the scientists are wrong is infinitely better than the end result of not taking action if they are right. I would have hoped that would be obvious to everyone.
How long does your common sense tell you we can continue filling our atmosphere with ever increasing amounts of crap before real damage occurs? Does your common sense tell you it would be better to put ourselves on a path to clean energy now or later when it is perhaps too late?
It has become a bit of a fad bashing climatologists and environmentalists among people like you. But in doing so you are failing to actually think about the potential consequences if you are wrong. If on the other hand we take action then the very least we have to look forward to is a cleaner society that isn't destroying our little bubble we live in, and in the process converting our industry to something much more sustainable and long lasting than fossil fuels.
Where's the downside again?
