Scotia Visa Balance Protector insurance

Post by Connor M »

Hello everyone.

I was just reading my scotia visa balance protetor policy and saw this little beauty.

" No benefit is paid if the death, accidental death, a health crisis or disability is caused directly or indirectly by any of the following:"

And item number four is "Flying as a pilot or Member of the crew of any Aircraft;"

Makes me wonder what I have been paying for as any reason I can think of for making a claim will likely be directly or indirectly caused by the flying as a pilot or crew member of any aircraft. Time to find a insurer who will provide a general loss of income or disability insurance and stop contributing to the bank's profits.

I guess a detailed check of all insurance policies is in order to ensure coverage even when the person selling it to you knows you fly for a living.

Have a good day and fly safe!

It's usually hidden in the fine print.
I got out of my way to let these companies know how I feel about this BS. .

I am usually fairly careful about this since I fly for a living.

But I missed this one.

Just wanted to point it out in case anyone though they might be covered for anything if they cary this coverage.

Better to check now and not find out when you need it!

Working for an unnamed company in Sask a few years ago, the owner was kind enough to offer this type of insurance for us employee's. Same clause, airplane involved death = no payout.

It's the thought that counts right?
