Can a Christian be a real American or Canadian?

Can a good Christian be a good American or Canadian?

I sent that question to a student of religious studies and Christian Theology (me). The following is his reply:

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to God (YWHW/Jesus), creator of the universe.

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by Jesus except following Him (John 14:6).

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the teachings of Christ and to no other (Mt. 6:24).

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Rome (if Catholic) and Jerusalem, the location of the Crucifixtion - remembered all through the New Testament.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews. There is no comparable component here - this is factually incorrect. "Peace-loving and innocent non-Muslims are to be treated with justice and kindness, otherwise the Muslims would be committing a sin and violating Allah Almighty's Holy Commands, "For Allah loveth Those who are just"." I bet some of the writings of Paul could be interpreted to teach Christians not to socialize with other religions, or people outside their community.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the Pope and teachings of the Bible.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him. Again, this is factually incorrect. The Qur'an is the only religious book that contains the phrase 'marry only one'. But don't let stereotypes and lies get in your way.

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on humanist principles and he believes anything not from the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic. Factually incorrect. Did you know that in the Phillipines, the ruling party is made up of Christians and Muslims - it's actually called "Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats". Granted, there's a lot of corruption, but they're neither autocratic or dictatorial, and were elected by the people. In Christianity, Christ is supposed to be the supreme ruler, and there would be no democratic ideal in heaven... Christ's word is law.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God,"First, Canadian's don't declare ourselves "one nation under God" the Christian's God is loving and kindThe God that destroyed entire cities so that our ancestors would have a place to live? I think there are a lot of people who would argue with this statement... or since you worry about the New Testament, what about the farmer's pigs that Jesus killed when he caused a demon (Legion) to enter them? I'm sure the farmer really appreciated that..., while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names. Why would they call God by a paternalistic name which originates in Christianity? This entire list seems to just say that Muslims can't be Christians... not Canadian or American. Therefore after much study and deliberation....perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL CHRISTIANS in this country. (I think it would be better to be suspicious of those who spread lies about other religions)
They obviously cannot be both "good" Christians and good Americans or Canadians.

Call it what you wish....it's still the truth. Actually, saying that you're a liar is the truth.

If you find yourself intellectually in agreement with the above statements, perhaps you will share this with your friends. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future.

Pass it on Fellow Americans or Canadians. The religious war is bigger than we know or understand! only in your deranged little mind. There are some of us who are working toward better understanding between the religions of the world. You're not helping to prevent any religious conflicts.

What sort of pat-down? Try imitating airport "security" goons at a school, in a mall, on a bus or in an office and you will quickly be charged with groping and indecent assault. The same standards should apply at airports. Behaviour that is considered offensive and criminal elsewhere should be treated as offensive and criminal if it occurs at an airport. People should have the right to travel without being groped or indecently assaulted.

Yes, it's only a matter of time before bombs start exploding in First World schools, markets, malls, buses and non-aviation work places. Governments and the public need to understand that all of us and our life styles and beliefs are the target and this terrorism will not go away of its own accord. Ineffective knee-jerk reactions and useless public relations type of security measures that achieve the terrorists' aims of destroying our economies, lifestyles and freedoms are not going to make us reasonably safe. (Nothing will be 100% effective.) Our governments need to become part of the solution, not part of the problem. They should learn from the South Africans, Rhodesians and Israelis instead of having the typical ignorant North American "not thought of here" and "head in the sand" mentality.

It's time for our dumb governments to get real and target the culprits, not innocent travellers. Let's see genuine profiling introduced without further delay and a public inquiry into why it was not put in place decades ago.

So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

      Let's send this to as many people as we can so that the Gloria Allreds and other dunder-headed attorneys along with Federal Justices that want to thwart common sense, feel ashamed of themselves -- if they have any such sense.

Yemen seizes 'Israel-linked' cell



Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has said the security forces have arrested a group of alleged Islamist militants linked to Israeli intelligence.

Mr Saleh did not say what evidence had been found to show the group's links with Israel, a regional enemy of Yemen.

The arrests were connected with an attack on the US embassy in Sanaa last month which killed at least 18 people, official sources were quoted saying.

I have no issues with full body scanners as long as they remove the present and past bullshit and stupidity we experience every day at the security line. I only ask they turn the camera off whilst I am receiving my high speed enema -- I wonder if tatoos show up - if they do I can see them getting very popular in expressing one's self --

I don't know how the image could possibly be used as porn, I mean come on, a white ghostly figure. They also said in the news, that the person monitoring the screen will be in another room and will not have any contact or view of who is going through the scanner. Could be a 15 year old or 60 they won't know, and images will not be stored. I personally feel this will be alot less invasive then a pat down.

my problems with these scanners, and the reason I will always ask for a pat down instead of a scan, is that they use extremely high frequency radio waves to see through your clothing. No doubt some is absorbed by your body. In Los Alamos they found that fields of this wavelength can basically cause your DNA to unzip and cause problems with gene expression and DNA replication

To further what Rigpiggy said, here is the text of an email that I received earlier today...

Have you seen any of the pictures supposedly produced by the full body xray scanners they are planning to install in airports?

They are all in a negative black and white format like this. Not so bad you might be thinking.

Some people are now suggesting that this format has been specifically chosen to make the pictures a bit less graphic and thus more tolerable to the public. The suggestion is that the true images are likely positives and in color to make foreign objects more easily identified. Even if the images really are as depicted above, a quick pass through a common image editing software produces this image, which is considerably more graphic than the sanitized versions being released to the public.

How'd you like to have the authorities collecting images like this of you and your loved ones? In the UK there is a huge debate that these kinds of images taken of children constitute child porn. How long will it be before images of celebrities and people with physical deformities are leaked to the internet? Even if the images stored in the scanner are deleted, there is no way to stop the people running the machines from taking pictures of the screen with their cell-phone cameras.

This technology has no place in a free democracy.

The last line makes me laugh, though, 'cause what's the alternative? Increased surveillance and spying, profiling etc...

In announcing that dozens of scanners that can peer through clothing will be installed at airports across Canada, Transport Minister John Baird also said children under the age of 18 won't have to go through the scanners.

The government would not say why the exemption had been made. Transport Canada deferred those questions to the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority and that organization deferred those questions to Transport Canada.
