I never feed anybody a line, if I don't know something I say so.
Last summer the decision was made that with some exceptions all training and project work would be done by contractors. A notice went out to the line guys asking them to put their name in, but it would mean flying a full block and coming in on their days off. I don't know how many they've gotten so far but I imagine there are a few severely underpaid EMJ FO's who are willing. There are also several retired guys doing it as has been the case on widebody fleets for years.
They have even advertised for managers from outside.
