Re: Cargo Aircraft
I know this suggestion might elicit some wisecracks from the usual suspects but I really think you should consider looking at an AN12 for the type of work you mentioned. It could probably give you the best pound for dollar rate of any cargo aircraft out there.
It's a great sight early in any winter morning at the Sulymenia airport when all the AN12's start up-taxi out and take-off all in different directions to God knows where.
Most of them originate in Bulgaria or Russia. Just ask if you're interested and I'll point you in the right direction for a quote.

Re: Cargo Aircraft
Yes, she has her limitations, as with all aircraft, but she sure could operate in and out of some "godforsaken places", and she would be a great "fish hauler"!correct me if I'm wrong here but looking at the specs for that turbo cariboo you can't go anywhere with a max load since you can only carry 1500 lbs of fuel - how could one sell something like that unless you had a very specific contract.
Cheers,
Steve

Re: Cargo Aircraft
A Hawker 748 would do it in two trips with one fuel stop.
Payload is about 12 500 lbs.
Can operate out of short unpaved strips.
Certified to operate in Canada.

An airplane kills you quickly; a woman takes her time.
Re: Cargo Aircraft
Thanks for the input everyone. Just trying to put it all together and get some prices on the aircraft. I think initially it's going to have to be one that's already certified in Canada.
I've done some searching, but does anyone have a link to TC certified cargo aircraft?
Thanks!
