Maybe some people don't know what a Lancair is?Ogee wrote:OooooKkkkk. Let's see if I got this right. A human being is killed in a tragic mishap, and you put up a link about the kit for the aircraft involved.
Maybe its late at night, but please tell me there is an explanation other than downright ignorance and callousness.

Authorities also say the plane was on the way from Orlando to Virginia, and had engine trouble. The first sign of trouble was as oil leak. The pilot reportedly wanted to land at Hilton Head’s airport, but oil then covered the windshield, and the propeller “left the plane.
Bad enough day, but then to get down safely only to strike a pedestrian on the beach, awful. The oil on the windshield blocked the pilot’s vision
yep, well, point taken. Apologies to RobReid.dcabrown wrote:Ogee, I think you got a little worked up over nothing.
Eerily similar to that poor man who was hit by the Jet Ranger in Cranbrook a couple of years ago.robbreid wrote:http://www.toledoonthemove.com/news/sto ... ?id=430543
Very sad update, according to 'The press?', aircraft began leaking oil at 13,000 feet, oil covered the window, and at some point,
the propeller became separated from the aircraft.
The man hit, was a 38 year old father of two, on a business trip, jogging on the beach with an Ipod on,
and was hit from behind.

I was thinking that too when I wondered aloud about the Ipod.Ogee wrote:erily similar to that poor man who was hit by the Jet Ranger in Cranbrook a couple of years ago.

How better would a guy get that across?
The damage is done Ogee - Relax.
I wonder if the guy was wearing an Ipod?

Probably sprung open in the crash. It happens easy enough especially if water went into the nacelle.Ogee wrote:
I see in the pic that the oil filler access flappy thingy is open. Did the guy belly in, kill some poor bugger, then hop out and check his oil?
Or blown open when the reduction G.B. and prop parted company. On condition wrote:

Not geared, just turbo'd. TSIO, not GTSIO.HS-748 2A wrote:Or blown open when the reduction G.B. and prop parted company. On condition wrote:
