You can interpret that however you would like.

Good luck! Happy hunting

Whats your car's best range speed? Find out and drive it. EVERYWHERE!
Also, go with 150% recommended tire pressure and a bald set of tires.
And if you want to be hardcore, electrical tape over all the gaps and imperfections on your car's body. Use the window to get in and out.

But seriously, 8500km is a long trip.
Have a good one!

102 kph
its funny driving up at the "speed limit" and having a line up of people waiting for the next passing lane......cruise control is my best friend on this trip.......at 102 ive managed a 20 mpg average so far and thats with a big truck that has big tires....not the best vehicle for a road trip but it works

Can you sleep in the mother?

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Hey Cat if you like sleeping in cars, try the scrap yard. It's like living in a 50 room condo!!Cat Driver wrote:Good on ya, I wish we could change places.

Take time to smell the roses. Take pictures. Lot of pictures. Enjoy the "freedom". When you do get that full time job, you'll only have the memories. Enjoy! You WILL find something.

+1
A little off topic, but I had the thrill of a life ferrying a PA 11 on floats from Ontario to Alaska. Took me 7 days and 50 hrs. I can still remember every day of that trip. Didn't have much time to enjoy the scenery. I hope I have the chance to do it again. I'd go a lot slower and enjoy the trip.
Ah but for money and time!

Re: Goodbye Civilization!! here we go!
Success!! After 3400kms on the road I have been hired on with a company in the Kluane National Park area of the Yukon! I start company traning on the C205 and C206 April 15!!!!!
I couldnt be happier. My maintenance background and showing up in person made a world of difference for me. Now I get to fly and wrench in the bush north of 60....exactly what I wished for
...........One piece of advice from a helicopter pilot friend that I think really helped me was to stop in at every operator that I could, even if i wasnt super keen on working for that particular company.... the more owners and CP's you can talk to the better.....it helped me with learning how to present myself and helped with controlling the nerves before I walked in to introduce myself, and even if they werent hiring most of them were happy to offer their advice to me and wished me good luck. I talked to 10 different operators on the way up before I managed to find work. One particular company I talked to in Fort Nelson was particularly welcoming and helpful (even though the company wasnt hiring). I arrived at the hangar after the owner had left. The 3 pilots there were so kind as to show me around the hangar, invite me to have dinner with them, offer as much advice as they could and one pilot even offered for me to stay at his house for the night. (Thanks Matt, Dan, and Steve!)
Good luck to everyone else heading out on a road trip soon! Be sure to talk to as many people as possible and exchange contact info with them all....I feel like I have made some industry "friends" over the last week and a half.
Cheers,
Taylor.

Hey Taylor, great news!
Just remember as a wrench and a pilot you must look after yourself - make sure you don't fly 14 hour days and then have to do a 100 hr when you get back! Stay safe and have a great summer!

Good job. You will love the Yukon and the Kluane Park area is unbelievable.
