YOW corporate scene
Looking to get some more posts on this board. How about the corporate scene in YOW.
I know of a Piaggio, apparently operated by Minto Homes. Heard it goes to Toronto a lot.
Then there is a Challenger owned I think by a guy who builds shopping malls. Apparently his office is in Toronto. But I think it does go overseas sometimes.
Heard that Huisson Aviation, a large helicopter company out of nearby Carp has a King Air 300 and an American registered Falcon 50. I wonder how that works. I know they own multiple helicopter companies.
There is a guy who has a car dealership across the river in Gatineau. He has a company called Expessair with a Citation III and a PC-12 available for charter. Apparently they hardly ever fly. His large and very nice hangar at YOW seems to never have any activity.
Is there still a Citation X around?
I know there is some smaller stuff around like some Cessna 414's but not much detail.
Any more info from anyone.

Re: YOW corporate scene
The citation X was sold. Not sure where it went. But you seem to have you finger on the pulse. What more do you want to know?
The mouth is the anus of the mind.
Re: YOW corporate scene
Just trying to get some more activity on this page. I know some about the YOW scene but plan to start more threads for different cities.
Who owned the Citation X and what kind of flying did it do. Seem to remember hearing that it had been parked in Britain and was hit by jetblast and had to have major repairs done.

I think the X was this company.
http://www.aircharterguide.com/Operator ... TAWA/33323
I heard a rumor that the owner was going through a divorce and sold the plane to one of the big aircraft management companies, but he still uses it but through them and made a deal in the sale to have his pilots go with the plane. Sounded like a class act.

Re: YOW corporate scene
Express Air has a new hangar at YOW and has a Caravan, PC12, Citation 560...working conditions I am not sure about...other than that Navcanada, Transport, RCMP, are about it beside a few cargo companies out of the Shell. Not a hot bed of activity.
Re: YOW corporate scene
I believe the 10 was owned by Terry Mathews.
Not a whole heck of alot in YOW

This Lyncher guy....giving out names of owners, not cool. Why would you use your last name on a forum? I know who you are. Not smart.

C-GMNC Citation X (750) Mitel Newbridge Corporations - not exactly a secret by it's registration.
Operated by IMP Group, based CYOW.
ex; C-FTEL/C-GIGT has been with Execaire/IMP on and off since 2001.
Aircraft has always been available for charter by Celtic Tech Jet (Owner is Welsh background),
I 'assume' IMP currently has it available for charter.
Execaire/IMP
This aircraft was originally ordered by a German customer (as N81SN) in April 99 but returned shortly after back
to Cessna - as N5060K, and re-sold in Dec 99 to Russian Tennis Player Yevgeny Kafelnikov as VP-CYK.
It was registered to Aerotech Specialties Ltd. as C-FTEL in Nov 01, and Operated by Execaire starting Nov 01.

|EDIT
Anyway, Ottawa has always been a back woods. Only a few players in the arena but the above info is very stale. Not going to elabroate but there has been a couple of new machines show up. A Bravo and a Mustang out at Carp.
You would think with the High Tech guys and the goverment there would be more stuff going on. Many moons ago there was a charter company that, if this is the "lyncher" I think he is, screwed up. It had a chance at keeping a few families fed but someone got very greedy and stole the pot of honey. Enough said.
Lately the Canadain Goverment has decided to down size their own flying and selling off some of the Citations and King Airs that they run. Too bad for the great guys doing the maintenance over there. Going to be tough to live in Ottawa plying their trade.
Great place to live, nice and quite. Home prices are very reasonable. Staff at the two FBO's are top notch. Can only get Avgas at the Shell though as Esso got out of that market.
The Ottawa Flying Club has partnered up with Algonquin College and are now offering a flight training program. Nice to see the flying club doing well.
Here is photo of the Challenger based there.

Re: YOW corporate scene
The company you are referring to is no doubt Capital Aviation. I can tell you I used to work for them. Let's just say some real stupid employees had a side venture on the go that brought down the company putting us pilots out of work. The owner was blind sided and was the scape goat. Funny what you think happend. Anyway, that was a long time ago.goingmach_1 wrote:|EDITMany moons ago there was a charter company that, if this is the "lyncher" I think he is, screwed up.
