-will be moving to YWG shortly.....
wondering if anyone can recommend areas in Winnipeg for long term apartment / house rentals.

Stay away from the north end at all costs....down around the university of manitoba is nice and there are lots of apartments in the area.....

I recommend ST James. it's in the west end, about 5 mins from the airport, clean and quite. I lived in a building called Victoria Arms - great place and cheep!!! I was paying $440/mth for a bachlor pad all included and it had air conditioning, and it was concrete witha great view. Each room has it's own cable box so I can explain how to get free cable if your interested.

Houseing is damn cheap though. You could buy a house just south of the airport for about 100K.

I grew up until the age of 13 in the north end. Compared to YHM it aint that bad at all!!! Dont know what the fuss is all about

St James is a good spot. Theres a good mix of cheap apartments that aren't too bad and legitimate classy apartments too. Good place to live, right close to the airport. Good Luck.

Moray Village is a nice spot if it weren't for all the pilots.

Lived in Moray Village - nice spot. Clean and quiet. Reasonable rent.
