Class 4 knowledge test

Post by nightbird »

Any ideas of what to use for the class 4 instructor knowledge test. Is there a guide like the one for the commercial written test where it says all the recommended material to read?

TP 2810 - Study and Reference Guide - Flight Instructor Rating - Aeroplane and Helicopter

I'll leave the flaming about commercial students not being able to locate this kind of thing to someone else.

Come on man give me a break, it's TC website not exactly google, I asked at least two of the class one at my school and they didn't even knew it existed.

Thanks for the link buddy, really appreciated.

Unfortunately the study and reference guide is not very helpfull as it basically says "know everything".

There was a pretty good thread on this forum that had specific examples of the type of questions being asked. Perhaps someone who is less of a ludite than myself, can find it and post a link.

FYI my last instructor student told me there was more questions on aerodynamic theory than he was expecting and he wished he had spent more time studying that area.

Great reason not to do any training with them.

If they didn't know something as simple as that then what else do they not know??

Im calling bullshit on this; no way in hell a licensed class 4 let alone two class 1s wouldn't know about study and reference guides.

Sadly, using google is usually the best way to find stuff on TC's website.

Just wrote the class 4 - heavy on learning factors and theory of flt. Couple of questions about GPS satellites. Questions on priviliges of a commercial pilot, solo authorization, flt test performance criteria, couple of FTM questions...Open the CARs or FTM on a random page and don't be surprised if it is on the test. Some questions so easy you read them 5 times to make sure that you're getting it right, some make you scratch your head.
